Several Charles County Public schools have planned fall festivals and other activities for their school communities. Below is a list of events planned for next week. Call the specific school listed for additional details.
Elementary School Events
- The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Dr. Gustavus Brown Elementary School is hosting a fall festival with a Trunk-N-Treat on Friday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. The event will include games, crafts, food, a haunted hallway and more.
- The PTO at Dr. Thomas L. Higdon Elementary School is hosting a Trunk or Treat on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the school parking lot. The event is for Dr. Higdon families.
- Malcolm Elementary School is hosting a Trunk or Treat for the school community on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. inside the school. The trick or treating portion is limited to elementary school aged children and the school book fair will also be open during the event.
- The T.C. Martin Elementary School PTO is hosting its Trunk or Treat on Friday, Oct. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the school.
- The Mary H. Matula Elementary School PTO is hosting a Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the school.
- Walter J. Mitchell Elementary School’s PTO is hosting a Fall Fest on Friday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. The event is for Mitchell families.
- Arthur Middleton Elementary School is hosting a Trunk or Treat on Friday, Oct. 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the front parking lot.
- Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Elementary School is hosting a Trunk or Treat on Friday, Oct. 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
- Mt. Hope/Nanjemoy Elementary School is hosting a fall festival parade on Friday, Oct. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.
- Eva Turner Elementary School is hosting a Trunk or Treat for Turner families on Friday, Oct. 28, 5 to 6 p.m. in the school parking lot. The event will include candy, games and awards for best costume and decorated trunk.
High School Events
- Henry E. Lackey High School’s student government association (SGA) is hosting a Trunk or Treat in the school parking lot on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 5 to 6 p.m.
- Maurice J. McDonough High School is hosting the sixth annual Neewollah Festival on Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. inside the school. The event is open to children in the McDonough zone, middle school age or younger. Admission is one canned good per family and the event will include games and activities, free candy and $1 face painting. The festival is sponsored by the McDonough SGA.
- The North Point High School Key Club is hosting a Trunk or Treat on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot located next to the main entrance. Suggested donations include support of Unicef.
- St. Charles High School is hosting HallowSpartanWeen on Monday, Oct. 24 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the school gymnasium. The event is for ages 2-12 with free admission and suggested donation of a canned good or pet food preferred.
- Thomas Stone High School is hosting its 15th annual Fall Festival on Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The event is open to children up to the age of 10 and will include free candy, games and crafts, and decoration contests. The festival is sponsored by the Stone SGA and suggested donations include canned goods or used clothing.
