Charles County celebrates American Freedom Week

Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) will celebrate American Freedom Week Nov. 4-8. During this week, CCPS gives special recognition to those who serve our country and those who gave their lives to preserve America’s liberty. Special activities will be held in all schools to honor and celebrate patriotism.

There are a number of days throughout the year that commemorate America’s history and honor the men and women who give of themselves to serve and maintain the freedoms Americans enjoy. CCPS celebrates American Freedom Week to recognize these men and women collectively.

The Board of Education recently passed a resolution recognizing the importance of promoting and educating students about the significance of American history, the people who have bravely served our country and the symbols of our country’s freedom. The resolution encourages students, teachers, parents, staff, Board members and other members of the community participate in the school system’s joint activities.
