Math 5A Virtual Boot Camp

Classes will be held virtually from July 12 - July 23, 2021. Virtual classes will be held Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.

The 5A Summer Boot Camp is designed to help students who are registered for 6A Math with content, skills, and general knowledge to help them be successful in the course. Students MUST be registered for the 6A math course for the 2021-2022 school year to be eligible for the Math 5A Virtual Boot Camp.

Summer Enrichment Camps

Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) is offering summer camps to all CCPS students in grades K – 8 for the 2021-2022 school year.

Most camps offered in-person with selected camps offered virtually.

Camps are available at no cost to CCPS students. Children must be enrolled in a CCPS school for the 2021-2022 school year to attend.

Limit of 2 camp sessions per child. All in-person and virtual camps are full.

Camp sessions offered:

Morning session from 8:30 - 11:00 a.m
Afternoon session from 12:30 - 3:00 p.m.

3 - 5	*Dance on Stage CAMP FULL** Do you like to dance or want to learn different routines? You'll have fun learning the elements of dance to include contemporary dance, physical conditioning and different dance rhythms.	*Passport to Music of the World CAMP FULL** Grab your passports - we are going on an adventure! The world is full of different musical sounds, instruments, and songs for us to explore! Learn about instruments and music from different countries around the world through listening, playing, and interacting with instruments from different cultures.
3 - 5	*SCRATCH Computer Fun CAMP FULL** Do you like to work on the computer and want to learn how to code? Learn the basics of computer coding using scripts, costumes, and sounds to create various cartoons and games. Use the Scratch computer language to design your own program.	*STEM Explorers! CAMP FULL** Do you like hands-on projects? Are you interested in science, technology, engineering, and math? Are you ready to take on some awesome STEM challenges? In this camp, we will be making designs and working with materials to complete 5 STEM challenges. The materials you need will be provided for you, so all you need to bring is yourself. Get ready to use your brain and explore ideas to take on some challenges!

You will have fun learning and working with special hooks and yarn to make colorful creations.	Art In Motion Dance Camp Art In Motion is a camp dedicated to the art of dance. We will learn various dance styles such as hip hop, jazz, and contemporary. As students explore different styles they will be able to express themselves, unlock creativity, and most of all have fun!! This camp will have engaging activities that include talent shows, TikTok, dance games and much more. We are looking forward to your ART IN MOTION!

Get your muscles toned up and your body active for the summer. Have fun as we exercise to interactive fitness videos, provide you with fitness challenges, set and chart personal fitness goals.	Debate Fight Club Are you passionate about your opinions? Do you have an idea you think you believe, but want a chance to develop it by discussing and defending it against questions and critique? Then come join Fight Club for spirited, Socratic debate! NOTE: There will be NO physical fighting in this camp.
6 - 8	Summer Band Camp Spend a week having musical fun with your instrument! This camp is for the incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade (SY 2021-22) band students who enjoy playing and learning new music. In addition, the students will reinforce what they already know, learn new skills, and play musical games. This is a good opportunity to keep in shape and be ready for the new school year.	Strings Boot Camp Keep your string skills in shape at Strings Boot Camp where we'll do pieces from the Essential Elements Book and some orchestra pieces. Learn some new skills such as bouncing the bow and playing two strings at once, bow squeezes and how to practice vibrato. We'll view some pop artists who play string instruments. We'll also do some artwork when we aren't playing instruments.
6 - 8	You Got Served Volleyball Camp You got served! Are you competitive? Do you enjoy being a team player, and feeling the rush of match point? Then get ready to BUMP, SPIKE and DOMINATE! This summer, we will teach you the basics of becoming a great volleyball player. You will learn tips, game strategies and techniques from two middle school championship coaches. Prepare for daily matches, exercise, and fun! BUMP, SET, SPIKE IT- Sign up, you'll like it!	Sweetly Stitches Do you enjoy creating things with your hands? Learn to make blankets, hats, scarves, clothes, and much more! At our stitch club, you will have the opportunity to learn how to knit, crochet, quilt, se, do embroiderty, and more!

Learn about the exciting fields of STEAM, through thinking, problem-solving, and reasoning skills.	Double Dutch & Dance Duo Come learn the basic skills of jumping double dutch and dance routines to the latest hip hop songs from the MS Royals very own Head Coach Miss Joseph.

Nanjemoy Creek Camp

For CCPS students entering Grades 6 through 8 in the 2021–2022 school year. The camp is available at no cost to CCPS students. Children must be enrolled in a CCPS school for the 2021-2022 school year to attend.

Transportation to the camp is not available this year, the camper must be dropped off at Nanjemoy Creek Center.

Amazing Animals!

Crawl, hop and slither your way to our summer camp. Join us as we investigate mammals, insects, fish, amphibians and reptiles through games, crafts and hands-on adventures. Activities: Canoeing, Fishing, an up-close visit with our raptors, and a whole lot more!

The camp runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Students should bring a lunch and beverage each day and dress for outdoor activities. The camp is limited to 18 campers.

Lackey Summer Youth Camp

at Henry E. Lackey High School
for children entering the 2nd grade in 2020-21 school year - 13-year-olds.

The Summer Youth Camp for boys and girls provides supervised activities in the following areas: soccer, touch football, basketball, floor hockey, swimming, kickball, arts and crafts, whiffle ball and other games. Camp activities will adhere to CCPS COVID-19 operating procedures.

Due to COVID-19 operating procedures, registration is limited to 50 campers per week
Priority registration is for families signing up for all four weeks of camp. Registration is open until full. A second registration will be made available if space remains.
Parents must register and pay online with a credit card. Credit card payments are processed online through MySchoolBucks.
Information about COVID-19 operating procedures is located on the CCPS website at https://www.ccboe.com/index.php/road-to-reopening. Parents must complete the COVID-19 pre-screening questionnaire daily. Click here for the questionnaire.
Once payment is received, no refund will be provided. Extenuating circumstances will be handled on a case-by-case basis with supporting documentation.

Bathing suit, towel, lunch (free hot lunch will be available starting June 21)
