Children should check out books every week!
The number of books a student checks out is limited according to grade level.
Pre- K & Kindergarten = 1 Book
1st Grade = 1 Book / First Half of Year then 2 Books Second Half of Year!
2nd Grade through 5th Grade = 1 Book till October then 2
Students must return their books to get new books.
Novels & Chapter Books can be renewed once.
(Exceptions will be made for EXTREMELY long books!)
We do not renew picture books, drawing books, comic novels, I Spy, or Pokemon!
For Overdue, Lost or Damaged Books:
A pink notice will come home with your child if their book is overdue. If it can not be found at home within one week, please send in a check made payable to William B. Wade Elementary for the amount of the book indicated on the pink slip. A receipt will then be sent home to the parents with their child. This will be kept on record for one school year so if you find the book later during the school year, send it in with your child and parents will be reimbursed. Reimbursement will be sent by mail by the office.
