Mission Statement/Compact

We, the members of the Eva Turner Elementary School community, establish this compact for Reading/Language Arts and Math in order to support the School Improvement Plan and to foster improvement in the areas of reading, language arts and mathematics to support the success of our students.

Student Agreement

It is important that I work to the best of my ability.  Therefore, I shall strive to do the following:

• Come to school on time and be ready to learn
• Take responsibility for completing my class work and homework
• Read daily and practice math facts and/or skills
• Show respect & responsibility for students and staff
• Follow Eva Turner's Rules and CCPS's Code of Conduct

Parent/Guardian Agreement

I want my child to achieve.  Therefore, I will encourage him/her by doing the following:

• Make sure my child comes to school daily and arrives on time
• Communicate frequently with my child's teacher
• Make sure that my child reads daily and/or is read to
• Make sure that my child completes his/her homework nightly
• Make sure that work listed in the Agenda Book for homework is checked and completed each night
• Make sure that my child is practicing math facts and/or skills nightly

Teacher Agreement

It is important that students achieve.  Therefore, I shall strive to do the following:

• Provide quality teaching and leadership to my students and their families
• Expect students to learn basic and advanced literacy and math skills and do challenging work
• Communicate with parents to discuss student's progress and/or areas of concern
• Plan lessons to meet the needs of all students and to provide a safe and orderly classroom environment for learning to occur

Administrator Agreement

We support this form of parent involvement.  Therefore, we shall strive to do the following:

• Welcome and involve all families in creating a positive school environment
• Focus on the development of reading, writing, personal responsibility and math in all Eva Turner students
• Provide for a safe and orderly school environment

By working together, we can create an outstanding learning community for our students.  Whatever it takes, our students are worth it!
