The following email was sent to Mr. Martin.  We are so proud of our Stone English teachers!

Mr. Martin,

I want to brag about your English I team who presented at the National Council of Teachers of English in New York City Nov. 16. Anne Ward, Patrick Swan, Josephine White, and Kathleen Jenkins gave an informative and practical presentation to an audience of about 100. Having just participated in a morning-long workshop with reading expert Kylene Beers, I felt proud as each Stone teacher validated his/her use of Beers' book and principles in reaching our struggling readers. Especially rewarding was the line of teachers who stayed after the presentation to talk with the Stone presenters, always a hallmark of a successful presentation. It was also significant that retired teacher Patricia Grove participated with her former colleagues. Thank you for your support of this professional experience for all. Hats off to Stone!
