Activity Buses Thomas Stone High School Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) will provide activity bus transportation to eligible high school students for the 2008-09 school year. The buses leaving Charles County Public Schools and Thomas Stone High School are for the express use of those students participating in high school sponsored activities which take place after the regular dismissal bell. This transportation shall be routed in such a manner as to serve as many of the students as possible and yet serve areas of the highest student population participating in after school activities. Students living in rural areas should make arrangements to be picked up from central locations along the established route. We will be running two departure times from Thomas Stone High School. The early activity bus will leave TSHS at 4:15. The second departure time will leave TSHS at 6:00. Attached you will find THREE (3) Activity Bus Routes.
Please view the attached Bus Route Sheets to determine which bus will be dropping off near your house. Fill out the attached permission slip and return to school as soon as possible so your child can be assigned the proper activity bus. Activity buses will only be for those students staying after school to participate in school sponsored activities. Students may only utilize this service on days when there is an after school activity in which they are scheduled to participate. All eligible students will receive a bus pass which they must show upon request of the driver or school staff. Coaches and Sponsors, not students, will only be able to obtain bus passes from Mr. Meiser or designated Administrator. Coaches and Sponsors will walk their students to the bus loading zone and will then give the bus passes to their students. Students without bus passes may not ride the bus unless the administrator has given the express approval directly to the bus driver. Transportation for extended day activities is a privilege and not a right and this privilege can be withdrawn from a student at any time if the student fails to follow all transportation rules and regulations. Please refer to the Student /Parent Handbook For Pupil Transportation. This program is being provided for the convenience of students may be discontinued at any time by CCPS.
