   English IV  

English IV (Honors) - This course is designed to meet the needs of students who are reading and writing at or above grade level but do not wish to pursue college-level AP classes. The content of world literature will be explored through major works read in full as well as through shorter selections and non-fiction texts. Writing expectations include primary source papers, critical analysis, and research. Summer Reading is Required.

English IV (A-Level) - This course is designed to help students develop and strengthen communication and interpretation skills necessary to perform well in the adult world of work. Areas of instruction include workplace reading and writing, research, consumer materials, visual literacy, multicultural genres, supporting a written thesis, language usage, and technology.

English IV (B-Level) - This course is designed to encourage students to read and understand materials from a variety of genres, including workplace reading. Students will practice writing and speaking strategies designed to help them express themselves effectively, using narrative, interviews, research and other expression skills.
