Principal's Biography

Stephanie E. Wesolowski, principal of Milton M. Somers Middle School, is a 1984 graduate of McDonough High School and began teaching Social Studies there in 1989.  In addition to teaching at McDonough, she also coached Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track and Field, as well as sponsored the Student Government Association.  She became an Administrative Intern at McDonough in 1994.  In 1996 she was appointed to the vice-principalship at Milton Somers Middle School, a position she held for one year before assuming the same position at Henry E. Lackey High School. Her service as vice-principal at Lackey lasted until 2001 when she moved to John Hanson Middle School to become their school principal for four years.  In 2005, Mrs. Wesolowski assumed her current position.  She is member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority for Professional Woman Educators, the Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals, the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development and the National Education Association.  Mrs. Wesolowski holds a BA degree in secondary social studies from the University of Maryland, College Park and an MA degree in General Administration and Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland University College in College Park.
