- Oversees the daily operations of all Charles County Public Schools
- Ensures the implementation of the Superintendent's Comprehensive Master Plan in all schools

- Establishes direction for principals in achieving measurable goals and holds evaluation conferences with all principals twice each year
- Supervises principals, vice principals, student services, alternative programs, athletics, extra-curricular activities, student government activities and print shop services
- Coordinates the system-wide Parent Advisory Committee, which meets three times during the year
- Chairs the Superintendent's hearing review committee
- In the absence of the Superintendent, the Deputy Superintendent is in charge of the day-to-day operations of all services within the school system

- Coordinates staff, resources,
and services for the schools, which include nurses, guidance counselors,
psychologists, and pupil personnel workers
- Serves as a resource and
consultant to central office and school administration in the areas of current
legislation, child safety laws, local and state policies and procedures,
alternative programs, attendance, and safe and orderly schools
- Develops school nurse
assignment schedule and acts as the liaison between the health department and
the school system
- Serves as the system liaison to
the Charles County Sheriff's Office, Maryland State Police, and the State
Attorney's Office
- Manages system responsibility
for the Local Management Board, child abuse programs, 504, Title IX, sexual
harassment, graduation requirements, and student records

Educational Center

Educational center houses alternative programs for middle and high school
students who are not able to function satisfactorily in a traditional school
environment
- NOVEL (New Options: Visions for
Effective Learning) is an educational option for high school students to earn
academic credit as an extension of the regular high school program. Students
are referred by their high school principal. For more information, contact your
high school guidance office

include: home and hospital instructional services and teenage parenting based
at the Stethem Educational Center
