School-wide Discipline Plan (PBIS)

We continue to implement the Positive Behavioral Support and Invention Systems (PBIS) approach through the use of our school-wide discipline plan.  PBIS is a team-based process for systematic problem solving and planning.  It is an approach to creating an environment within which school0based teams of educators create a system change for effective behavior management.

The color card system will continue to be used across all school domains.  This system involves every student and staff member within the school. Celebrations will continue to be held every month, with social skills training available for those needing support.  Teachers will continue to be clear and consistent in behavior expectations, teach desired behaviors, address low-level behaviors with low-level consequences and provide positive reinforcement when positive behavior is demonstrated.

 We believe that by following the Cardinal Code of Conduct we can build a community where all members respect themselves, each other and property.  Please talk with your child about how to demonstrate these qualities at home and school.
