What is an RSS Feed?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds provide an easy way to obtain information from multiple sources in one place. Feeds contain free content such as news, press releases, podcasts and other information that can easily be distributed to a number of devices. An RSS feed is like any other web file in that it is available on a web server waiting to be accessed.
By subscribing to one of our feeds, a notice will be sent to you automatically when information has been updated. Instead of being delivered to you as an email or text message, the latest Charles County Public Schools information will be sent to your chosen RSS reader. From there you can choose what information to read and ignore the information you are not interested in.
Where can I download an RSS Reader?
Most browsers (the latest version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera) and even some cell phones have an RSS reader built in. There are also many free readers available that can be found by searching any major search engine. Once you have downloaded or subscribed to an RSS feed reader service, simply add the link of any of the above RSS feeds by copying the URL in your browser's address bar to your feed reader of choice. That software is designed to automatically read the feed and display the most current information from that site.
