The following is a partial calendar for the 2012-13 school year. The calendar is subject to change.

  • Aug. 13, 2012 – New teacher orientation week
  • Aug. 20, 2012 – First day for returning teachers
  • Aug. 27, 2012 – First day of school for students, grades K – 12
  • Sept. 3, 2012 – Labor Day, schools/offices closed
  • Sept. 4, 2012 – First day for Three's program, and for category one and two prekindergarten students
  • Sept. 10, 2012 – First day for category three prekindergarten students
  • Sept. 14, 2012 – Teacher in-service day, schools closed for students
  • Sept. 19, 2012 – Two-hour early dismissal, no Three's program, morning prekindergarten students attend
  • Sept. 26, 2012 – Two-hour early dismissal, no Three's program, afternoon  prekindergarten students attend
  • Oct. 8, 2012 – Columbus Day, schools open
  • Oct. 17, 2012 – Two-hour early dismissal, no Three's program, morning prekindergarten students attend
  • Oct. 19, 2012 – Maryland State Education Association (MSEA) Convention, schools closed for students and teachers
  • Oct. 31, 2012 – Two-hour early dismissal, no Three's program, afternoon prekindergarten students attend
  • Nov. 6, 2012 – General election day, schools closed for students only
  • Nov. 12, 2012 – Veterans Day, schools/offices closed

  • Jan. 2, 2013 – Schools reopen
  • Jan. 18, 2013 – Semester break, schools closed for students only
  • Jan. 21, 2013 – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday, schools/offices closed
  • Jan. 30, 2013 – Two-hour early dismissal, no Three's program, morning prekindergarten students attend

  • March 29, 2013 – Good Friday, schools/offices closed
  • April 1, 2013 – Easter Monday, schools/offices closed
  • April 2-5, 2013 – Spring break, schools closed
  • April 17, 2013 – Two-hour early dismissal, no Three's program, afternoon prekindergarten students attend
  • May 1, 2013 – Two-hour early dismissal, no Three's program, morning prekindergarten students attend
  • May 27, 2013 – Memorial Day, schools/offices closed
  • June 10, 2013 – Last day of school for Three's program*
  • June 12, 2013 – Two-hour early dismissal, afternoon prekindergarten students attend
  • June 13, 2013 – Two-hour early dismissal, morning prekindergarten students attend
  • June 14, 2013 – Two-hour early dismissal, afternoon prekindergarten students attend, and last student day*
  • June 17, 2013 – Last teacher day*

* Four inclement weather days are built into the calendar. If they are not used, they will be deducted from the end of the school year. If additional inclement weather days are needed, Presidents Day, Feb. 18, will change to a school day and will be followed by days added to spring break, beginning with April 5 and continuing with April 4, 3 and 2.
