Three Charles County Public elementary schools will receive a Governors Citation for Superior Maintenance for the fiscal year 2008 in a ceremony scheduled before the Board of Public Works next month.

J.C. Parks, J.P. Ryon and Mt. Hope/Nanjemoy elementary schools will be recognized for their superior maintenance efforts of the school buildings and school grounds. Each year, the Board of Public Works performs maintenance surveys on selected schools in Maryland. Schools are rated on a scale of superior, very good, good, fair or poor for how well their buildings are maintained. School staff are usually given short notice of the inspection.

All three schools will be recognized Dec. 3 in Annapolis and representatives from each school have been asked to attend for recognition.
