6th Grade News and Information

The Sixth Grade Team welcomes any new students who joined our sixth grade Picco Family – we are glad to see you...and welcome to a new year!

Most sixth graders seem to be arriving prepared each day.  However, the teachers have noticed an increase in the quantity of class work and homework assignments not handed in.  Check your child's agenda for missing assignment stamps or request a progress report from a teacher if you want to track your child's success in a particular class.

In addition, please take an inventory of your student's supplies.  Pencils and notebook paper are becoming short in supply for many students.  Also, their binders have taken a lot of punishment in the first half of the year, so they may need to be replaced or visited by Dr. Duct-tape.

The students are so comfortable with their lockers that it has almost become a second home.  Many students have multiple jackets, lunch boxes, gadgets, food, etc. stuffed in their locker and are having difficulty fitting in their school items.  It's time to house clean!

Our "Lost and Found" is growing with jackets, agendas, and notebooks. Please ensure that your child's name is on their jacket, lunchbox, and agenda. It will save you in replacement costs!

Our First Quarter Awards Ceremony was on November 13th and the following students received our team awards:

Gabrielle Frank

It was impressive, to say the least, that we had 14 students achieve Principal's Honors (4.0), 39 achieved Highest Honors (3.5 – 3.99), and 48 students achieved Honors (3.0 – 3.49).  Parents, students, and teachers working in partnership have attained these results.  Thank you and let's strive to break these first quarter statistics!
