Piccowaxen Middle School is in the southern most region of Charles County. Our school consists of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students with a student body population of approximately 500 students.

Young Authors' Contest
Middle school students grades 6 through 8 can write a poem, short story or essay. Click here for more details. Contest is also open to grades 2 through 5. All winning entries will be published in an anthology and each student author and his/her teacher will receive a copy.
American Freedom Day and Vetrans Tribute Display Case
This year Piccowaxen would like to honor our Veterans by transforming our display case in the main lobby into a tribute for Piccowaxen family members and friends that are either currently serving in the armed forces or have served in the armed forces in the past. Piccowaxen Students Honor The Tomb of the Unknowns
On Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 most of Piccowaxen's 8th grade class traveled to Arlington Cemetery where they honored our American Soldiers. Click here for pictures and more information.

STUDENTS GET THE MESSAGE, 'JUST SAY NO'
Piccowaxen congratulates Jessica Hirst, Ray Hackett, Brent Welch, and Kyle Bailey for being a part of the 2008 Just Say No, Students Against Drunk Driving - Drug Prevention seminar. During the seminar, students and officers discussed prescription medicine, internet and firearm safety, drugs, alcohol and tobacco. For more information click here.
