Meet the Principal

Mrs. Carol LeveilleeMrs. Carol Leveillee has worked for Charles County Public Schools for 27 years.  She became principal of Mary B. Neal when it opened in 2008.  She was at Mary H. Matula Elementary School for 10 years.  Mrs. Leveillee was Charles County Public Schools 2006 Principal of the Year and a recipient of the Washington Post's Distinguished Educational Leadership award.  In 2008 she was named National Distinguished Principal.  She began her career in Charles County in 1983 as a 5th grade teacher at Mt. Hope/Nanjemoy Elementary School.  She also taught 5th grade at William B. Wade beginning in 1989.  She became an instructional specialist in 1994 and in 1995 was named as a vice principal at Eva Turner Elementary School. She served as a vice principal at Dr. James Craik and Matula Elementary School before being named as Matula's principal in 1999.

Mrs. Leveillee received her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and special education from Frostburg State College and her master of education degree in administration and supervision from the University of Maryland.

Mrs. Leveillee's favorite subject is math.  Her favorite sayings are "If it is to be it is up to me" and "Character is what you do when no one is looking."  She lives in Calvert County with her husband Mark.  Her son Anthony graduated from UMBC with a degree in informational systems.  She is looking forward to another fantastic year working with the children, staff, parents, and the community of Mary B. Neal Elementary School.
