Parent Information

Title I

Title I is designed to help close the achievement gap between disadvantaged students and their peers.  The purpose of Title I is to help ensure that all children have the opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach proficiency on challenging state academic standards and assessments.  The Title I Program provides each school with educational support beyond the regular classroom.  Please review the Parent Involvement Action Plan and Home-School Compact for further details.

Parent Liaison

Mrs. Katrina Felton is our new Title 1 Parent Liaison.  Please contact Mrs. Felton with any concerns relating to family and parent involvement, as well as volunteer opportunities.  kfelton@ccboe.com or 301. 753.1762

Volunteers

Parent volunteers are vital component to the success of our school environment. Your child will be proud to have a parent that is an important part of the Dr. Mudd community. Volunteers help teachers with many important tasks and add a family atmosphere to the school.

The Start Parent Volunteer Program is a new  volunteer program created to give special recognition to all of the parents, grandparents and family members who volunteer throughout the school year.  As you volunteer, your picture will be placed in the center of a star and posted on the bulletin board located in the main office.  Incentives will be presented to all volunteers and a special "Superstar" volunteer will be selected each month.  Come volunteer and be a STAR!

P.T.A.

The Dr. Mudd P.T.A. is an active group that provides support to the school as well as an additional avenue for parents to participate in their child's educational career. The current Vice President for this school year is Mrs. Veronica Jennings. Mrs. Jennings can be reached by calling the voice mail system at 301-934-7200 and accessing the P.T.A. voice mailbox at extension 3556. The goal this year is to reach 75 members, so please join! All P.T.A. correspondence comes home on purple paper for easy recognition.  PTA Events Calendar
