Laurie Brown-Abdelmageed, PhD, Vice Principal

Laurie Brown-Abdelmageed is the vice principal for Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Elementary School.  This is her 2^nd year in that role here.  She served as an Instructional Specialist at Mt. Hope Nanjemoy Elementary and Piccowaxen Elementary Schools prior to being assigned to Dr. Mudd.  She also served as Director of Children's Services for St. John's Day School in Washington, DC. 

Dr. A, as she is known by the school and community, began her full time teaching career in 2000 after making a change in career from business and industry.  She taught in Wilmington, DE and Cecil County Maryland. Dr. A earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Saint Paul's College in Lawrenceville, VA.  She received her Master of Education in Special Education from Wilmington University in New Castle, DE.  She received her Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. 

Dr. A is the proud mother of one son.  Her life goal is to, "Change the world…one student at a time".
