3rd Grade News June Updates  We have had been a wonderful school year. We have enjoyed teaching your children. They have all done a wonderful job. We are very proud of each and every one of them.
LiteracyLiteracy is our Reading, Writing, and Working with Words block. In Reading we are going to wrap up Theme 6: Smart Solutions. We will have literature circles during the last week of school. For the literature circles, the students will work in groups to read and discuss a chapter book. In Writing we will be writing letters to our future fourth grade teachers and to the upcoming third graders.
MathWe will finish up our unit on Statistics. We will be reviewing the math concepts that have been taught this year.
During the summer: Please continue to encourage your child to read during the summer. They should be reading everyday. The public library is a great place for you and your child to visit. Please help your child continue to practice their multiplication and division facts. They will be using these skills often in fourth grade. Your child will be receiving a summer packet at the end of the school year. Please encourage your child to complete this packet. The skills in the packet contain review activities of skills that will be needed in fourth grade.
