Pre-K News

May Updates 

This month in reading we will be working on two units.  The first unit is called "Growing and Changing" and the second unit is called "Ready for Kindergarten".  The first unit will be broken down into the following themes: "I'm Growing Everyday", "Everything Changes", and "Look, It's Spring".  The children will observe how they changed over time, they will learn how nature changes, and investigate signs of spring.  The second unit will also be broken down into three themes, and they are: "Now I Know my ABC's", "We Count", and "Off to Kindergarten!".  Each theme will work on preparing the children for what is expected of them in kindergarten.   

This month in math we will be working on a unit that involves graphing.  The children will learn how to collect data, create picture graphs, and use modeling to solve problems.  We will also be working on simple addition and subtraction beginning in the middle of May. 

Please keep an eye out for information coming home by the middle to end of May about the pre-kindergarten promotion ceremony.
