January Updates
3 Year-old Program
For the month of January, we will be working on the colors blue and purple, the number 5, the shape rectangle and the letters Jj, Kk, Ll, and Mm. We will also be discussing winter, hibernation, patterns, graphs, weight, sounds, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Three Little Pigs, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Please remember read with your child every night for at least 15-20 minutes.
Our project for this month will be to decorate a snowman. Please remember that your child should do the majority of the work. Parents and guardians are there to help. You have all month to complete the project but we would like them back as soon as possible to display in our classroom.
Please remember that all bedding is sent home on Fridays to be washed. It needs to be sent back on Mondays. On January 7th, the 3-year-olds do not have school as it is an early dismissal day for the rest of the county. School is also closed on January 20th for Inauguration Day, but will be open on January 23rd.
Pre-K
WELCOME BACK!
Beginning January fifth Pre-K will begin a new unit. Our new unit is called “Animals Everywhere”. We will be learning about animals from all over the world. The unit will be broken down into three smaller themes. The first theme I Love Animals focuses on animals that we may have in our homes as pets. The second theme Animals We Know focuses on animals that we may see on a farm or at the zoo. Lastly, our third theme Animals on Land and Sea focuses on animals that we may see in ponds or oceans, as well as animals from other countries.
As you know the weather is changing very quickly. Please make sure that you dress your child appropriately each day. Also, please write their names on the inside of all of their belongings, coats, hats, mittens, scarves, etc.
We hope that everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday season! |
