 School HealthVaccination RequirementsThe Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Center for
Immunization has released vaccination requirements for the 2008-2009
school year. All Charles County Public Schools students are required to
have certain vaccinations prior to attending schools. The following
vaccinations are required.
Prekindergarten requirements:
- DaPT
- Polio
- Haemophilus Influenza type B, known as HIB
- Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Prevnar
Kindergarten requirements:
- DaPT
- Polio
- Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B
Requirements for grades 1-11:
- DaPT
- Polio
- Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B
Requirements for grade 12:
- DaPT
- Polio
- Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
Students
entering 12th grade are not required to have the Varicella or
Hepatitis B vaccination. As of August 2008, students entering grade 11
are required to have the Varicella and Hepatitis B vaccinations.
Additionally,
those students who are required to repeat the eleventh grade are required
to have the Varicella and Hepatitis B vaccinations.
