NOTICE FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS:
LOST and FOUND ITEMS
Dear Parents and Students of Davis Middle School,
We hope you are enjoying the beginning of a great year at Theodore G. Davis Middle School! As we continue to strive for educational excellence, we also strive to maintain a healthy, safe and orderly environment. This includes keeping our offices, classrooms, locker rooms, and hallways clear of the accumulation of extra "stuff."
This year a new policy regarding our lost and found items will be implemented. Please be aware that at the end of each quarter we will donate all unclaimed clothing, backpacks, shoes, etc. to a charitable organization. The "lost and found" items will be stored in Room D112 on Main Street until the donation date.
Please review this policy with your child and remind him/her to frequently clean out his/her locker, notebook, and backpack. Write your child's name on all articles for easy identification. Part of the Charles County Public Schools mission includes student responsibility. It is the student's responsibility to maintain and secure all personal items.
Ultimately, we wish to eliminate unnecessary hazards for our students and staff by cleaning house on a regular basis. Last year alone resulted in more than twelve garbage-size bags full of unclaimed items.
We thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter and we value your partnership in providing a healthy, safe and orderly environment for learning!
Sincerely,
Linda P. Metheny
Wendell O. Martin
